Caption: Winterized the last hive today. This block of three frames of crazy comb was one I was looking forward to retiring from the hive. Last year’s experiment of using bamboo skewers didn’t work well. Using wire frames and separating the empty frames with drawn comb to prevent these artist bees from getting all creative again. #beekeeping #honeycomb #permaculture #bees #beeswax

I also write, work, and live in the rugged, highland forest of the traditional, unceded and stolen lands of the Mixetec Ñuu Savi (people of the rain) and Zapoteco Ben’Zaa (people of the clouds), past present and future, in what is known as Oaxaca, Mexico.
